Just a bit of background since there are changes from the novel, in the novel Tan Yun dodges Wu Shuang's attack in order to waste time so the effects of the pill Wu Shuang wears off, and he realises that Tan Yun isnt a normal "trash" worker, since he sees Tan Yun uses various Elemental attacks which a trash should not be able to do, he regrets the fight and still dies

Also Tan Yun hid his sword the moment the formation ends, as the Sword formation he uses covers everything up, this is so no one will notice the various sword elements he possesses so no one will know he is able to use all types of elements, also because he doesnt want his enemies or their spies from his previous life to find out that he is now Tan Yun. Subing was able to tell he used some of the elements since her cultivation level is higher than Tan Yun's but she is unable to tell he can use a lot more lol

LoudAF • 1 year ago

is he also so laidback in the novel? despite him not having both arms? anyone else would moan cry or beg for help or atleast would use some medicine

Dase • 1 year ago

In the novel he actually is in severe pain and bears with it, but he does have a high tolerance for pain since, one of his body strengthening technique which was shown in previous episodes is to break up every part of his body, bones and organs and reconstitute it again

vio • 1 year ago

I was waiting for him to hold the arm against the severed area to watch it reattach to him again.

Dase • 1 year ago

Pretty sure he kept his arms in his spatial rings until after the fight and reattaches it lol

By the way this is the beginning of when Subing starts to look at Tan Yun in a different light. nothing romantic yet she only has feelings for her "master" later on, and when she suspects it is Tan Yun, she slowly regains her memories much much later on though, but she doesnt regain everything (martial arts, time and space techniques) until she merges with her body/corpse from 9,999 incarnates ago. It is kept in an ice coffin in one of the forbidden areas

vio • 1 year ago

ok that just made me cringe a bit... I know we have grave robbers out there but to play with your dead bones is just.... shivers...

Dase • 1 year ago

Oh you meant Subing lol
Nah her body is kept in an ice coffin, she is in some sort of stasis, kind of like a body without her soul, Tan Tun's surviving subordinates placed her in there

vio • 1 year ago

Yes, I meant Subing because the very idea of merging with a previous incarnate is somewhat weird. I like the idea of looking at memories from a past life though, I would probably jump at the chance to do that myself.

did you delete your post cos I remember something else being written earlier about someone making a mistake which cost them a decent future.

Dase • 1 year ago

Trust me you might not like what you see from your previous lives
Your past life wife is your current sister, your good friend in your past life is your pet dog, the person you hated in your past life is your current boss :P And to relive every moment of death, well remember, ugh

Yes I deleted it when I realised I was rambling something unrelated to your post lol

I'm kind of interested in seeing what kind of nature I had as a person in a past life and how it differs from my current one. Well and being a typical male, if I was ever female and if I was, was I stunning? did I have a voice that grated on people's ears? :P
I think the only thing I probably would hate to find out was that I was a plant in a previous life that had to deal with someone's pet using me as their own personal toilet daily. Reliving the deaths I think I could handle as long as I didnt remember the pain felt at the time as I've seen a lot of graphic content over time from horror movies to war films.

Dase • 1 year ago

lol In Buddhism your nature doesnt change, only the circumstances changes depending on your karma, so if you were stunning but humble and kind person you will still remain stunning and have a good life, but if you were stunning and was very proud of your looks and used it for bad deeds then you will become ugly and people will tease your looks.
Most of the time remembering the past sometimes triggers the same emotions more or less of that event, like a break up or a death of a close one, time might heal and lessen the pain though depending on how mentally strong you are :)

vio • 1 year ago

You wrote "in Buddhism your nature doesnt change" but what if the person's nature was determined by what they had to deal with during childhood and their younger teen years? That is why I'm interested to see what kind of nature I had in a previous life.

Dase • 1 year ago

Of course your nature will be affected by the environment when growing up, if your nature was changed easily then it means in the past it would have sway either way.
It is interesting to know I dont doubt that lol but somehow I feel that I would not be able to handle the knowledge with my current self, like I am now a PC with 3080 ti but I need to have a 1,000,000,080 ti to be able to handle such knowledge lol

vio • 1 year ago

lol its kind of funny you mentioning that considering the human brain is like a computer. Do you feel you wouldn't be able to handle it because you'd be overwhelmed? I don't think it'd be a problem if you could be selective about what you can remember but I doubt it'd go like that if it was possible.

Dase • 1 year ago

Yes I feel I will be overwhelmed, kind of like Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade where that woman asks to know everything and gets overwhelmed lol *KA BOOM!!* there goes her brains lol

At least it would be quick unlike raiders of the lost ark when they melted lol

Past lives is interesting but ultimately the math doesn't add up. When 5 people all think they are each the reincarnation of Abraham Lincoln or Ghengis Khan it doesn't work. The other part is that there are more people alive today on planet Earth than have been around for 1,000 years. Thus 99% of the souls alive today would have to be brand new and have no past lives.

Dase • 1 year ago

Whether the math adds up or not it still isnt enough proof when 5 people claims they are the reincarnation of the said person, who knows they might be right, a drop of water falls into an ocean, as the drop is taken out again is it the same drop? or has that drop immersed itself into other drops making them the same :) I dont have the answer and might not be right, but that discussion is endless.
Happy to discuss "what if" like I did with vio, but proving if it is true or false isnt my cup of tea, I dont wish to offend someone who's faith is dependent on believing whether it is true or not

Aerlis Ambrosius • 1 year ago

Nah, its ok. I have pretty thick skin and I am never offended by a philosophical discussion of metaphysics. But you are too polite. I don't care if anyone else is offended. If they are, then that is their problem and not mine. Of course personal attacks are a different story. I might laugh it off or it might piss me off. I am only human after all. However, I do deeply respect and admire your diplomacy skills. This is a talent that I have never cultivated.

Dase • 1 year ago

My work requires me to be very patient and tolerant to a lot of people and in most cases their situation makes them often very demanding and often very short with people around them
Plus it could be because I have been to areas where poverty and famine have caused devastation among the less privileged makes me less willing to quibble about things that are transient and hold no true meaning, I can win an argument but so what? How does it benefit the world? lol Besides I dont want to cause karmic affinity with someone just because we disagree on something trivial lol

If you joined the CCP, yeah, you be dead monkey walkin'!

While there are a few things I like about China even more so than the country I was born and raised in, I would never sell my soul to become involved in its politics.

LowJack187 • 8 months ago

You're involved weather you want to be or not! Don't enter winter without stocked pantry and 6 months of consumables. Here comes a shitstorm!

vio • 8 months ago

lol if you say so

Wow his cultivation techniques are more cruel than I thought. I get preparing for everything but wow self torture. That’s mental but I understand nonetheless.

So where is his other arm? Assuming that he can attach the arms again, but there is only one arm there.

Dase • 1 year ago

Budget studio, budget animation :)

Exo • 1 year ago

lol

Joas • 1 year ago

The first arm he lost fell a short distance before he magically sucked it back into his storage bag, the second arm he lost fell onto the ship. So the other arm is in storage

I'm sorry but I found it hilarious that he was fighting with no arms lol

LoudAF • 1 year ago

dude seriously, i loved this show till now...but he is missing two limbs, and acts like there has been nothing more normal than losing both arms and everyone else around him also does not give a f about him losing both arms. he is always on the brink of death when he gets a few body blows... now he just talks about his formation, laughs, gives lessons...whats next? will we see a headles tanyun. i know the cgi is bad but how did this go past quality control? kinda similar to the headless britney spears from southpark
